Hell is other OS’s.

What most people don’t realize is that Dante’s Inferno was actually an Italian sys admin’s deconstruction of Linux. After fleeing into the past in hopes of leaving his incredibly toxic relationship behind, er, ahead of him, Dante penned what would be his greatest and most misanalyzed work, detailing his decades long affair with Linux.

Dan in present times. “I’m really liking the usability gains that Linux has made in the last several years, it’s a breath of fresh air! Now all I need to do is setup some basic shared folders across my home network. This should be a fairly straight forward and easy thing.”

Linux – I don’t recognize that statement, there’s no practical reason for this “sharing”.

Me – “People do it all the time, it’s generally a couple of clicks in a small networked Windows environment.”

Linux – Please let me know when you wish to start making sense.

Me – “No problem, that’s why we have search engines, forums and Youtube.”

The Internet – Yes, yes! Very easy! Let me show you!

15 different forum posts, untold pages of text and 3 20+ minute videos later….

Me – “So, what you’re saying is, Jughead was secretly dating Veronica the whole time?!”

Linux – Now you are starting to make sense.

I chose the Shorter Whitman because of his work, "Song of Myself" and because of my self-deprecating sense of humor. I am under no illusion that I can write successful essays or poetry, but I have been known to write them anyway.
