So Ye(Kanye) is going to buy Parler because he wants to “protect Conservative speech”. Apparently his feelings were hurt when he threatened go Defcon 3 on a group of people about a week ago and ended up getting kicked off a couple of platforms for it.
Here’s the thing, though. If you have to buy or start your own company in order to say highly offensive and racist things and defend it as protecting speech, you’re not being cancelled, you’re just being racist and offensive. Most of us don’t have time for that and we’re under no obligation to handle anyone or anything with kid gloves when they choose to say shit like that. The fact that you still have platforms, or can start your own, is a testament to the fact that free speech is still there. As are the consequences.
