The truth is, there’s all sorts of flavors of Capitalism, it’s not something where it’s all or nothing, right or wrong. Verizon is raising their rates soon. A company known for some of the highest rates and best profits in the industry is aiming even higher, citing inflation. You know what would help lower inflation? Not raising rates. You know what improves consumer spending? Paying your employees more. Money still gets made, profits still push the stock price higher, but the standard of living is better for those on whose backs those profits are made. We don’t have to do business this way, but billions of dollars are spent every year convincing you that we should.
There are no fewer wells this week than last. No less oil in the pipelines. A few Texas refineries closed, not because they had to but because oil companies could make more money that way. The Fed is putting millions of barrels from the Reserve into the system
