In today’s age of instant information, video, and audio, we should have a press that freely and continually keeps people informed about the unconstitutional abuses of legislation and power that our various political parties use to stay in power.

As a people, we should be very, very angry, regardless of politics. These antics are literally messing with our lives, our homes, our country.

Next to our polling stations should be a place for picking up bottled water, N95 masks, pitchforks and torches.

Instead we have Facebook. There’s a word for this situation, I think it starts with F***.

I chose the Shorter Whitman because of his work, "Song of Myself" and because of my self-deprecating sense of humor. I am under no illusion that I can write successful essays or poetry, but I have been known to write them anyway.
