It’s not that liberals and conservatives disagree, it’s the scale of disagreement, at least here in the US. After this last year, in which we’ve seen first hand what conservative policy has led us to, I can no longer endorse or back conservative policy in any form. I’ve watched first hand as my conservative friends and family have rejected logic, science or humanity in an effort to “defend” their way of life. There’s no war on Christmas, no assault on religion, and ‘liberal” politicians are not suddenly going to render the United States a bankrupt nation. Conservatism in the US isn’t a call to reasonable governance, it’s a concerted effort towards virtually everything our nation stands against. I’m done with it.
