It bothers me that I’m seeing a pattern of obfuscation by the school district. It took Governor Bullock calling them out in order to get them to release any figures at all regarding COVID infections. Prior to that it was a media blackout and it would have been fair of you to think that we were doing so well as to just not have any. Fair, but very wrong. Since then, we’ve watched infections among students and staff go up. Now they’re using “unassigned” numbers to avoid reporting higher totals.

One bad policy doesn’t make a conspiracy or point to problematic behavior, but several outliers should make you take a closer look. I think it’s time for a closer look. Why does it appear that the Montana School districts seem to be looking for ways to avoid reporting cases, or to keep them artificially low?

I chose the Shorter Whitman because of his work, "Song of Myself" and because of my self-deprecating sense of humor. I am under no illusion that I can write successful essays or poetry, but I have been known to write them anyway.
