When I talk to people looking to go into my field, to illustrate how important trucking and logistics is to everyone, I tell them that we are only 24-72 hours away from running out of necessities at any given time. Logistics is the backbone of any nation.
I didn’t expect to have a real world example that I could point to so readily, but here we are.
I could have a long discussion about how we got this point, and what it means for actual security, our economy and general welfare, but I’ll save that for another post. For now, just understand that if trucks and boats aren’t moving, or aren’t getting loaded/unloaded, we have huge problem.
