Working on a document for work. Word keeps suggesting I use fewer words in my sentences, i.e. changing “similar to” to “like”. Bah – I didn’t develop a basic vocabulary simply to dumb it down to Twitter level communication. A sentence should be functional poetry; perfectly understandable yet roll off the tongue the way a good drink does- smooth, yet rich, hinting at possibilities if you take the time to savor it.
Modern communication is more like Miller Lite than Glenmorangie. 🙁
