I suspect as he moves farther West and South, Bernie will find it tougher to swing states his way. Something strikes me that the east and west coast states are most likely to see beyond the socialist label, but all the states in the middle would rather vote for a female than a socialist. We will see.

Gedanken experiment:
Name ten socialist countries. Name one successful one.
I would have loved Rice as a President. It is frustrating that her name isn’t even put out there as an option. Frustrating, but not surprising. Black and female.
Re: Your experiment. There are a few self-described socialist countries out there, but not even enough to make 10. And of those, I would say several are more communist than socialist. A “pure” economic construct fails in reality, whether it be Communism, Capitalism, Socialism or otherwise.
