And now for something completely serious.

Those Pesky End Times

A friend of the family is very concerned for my well being.  She will post links to my Facebook page from time to time, warning me of the dangers of vaccination or Sharia Law being imposed on our troops, that sort of thing.  Today’s post concerns the end times and the preparations that are necessary to survive it.  I bring this up today because clearly this was put together by somebody whose cynicism just plain got the better of him and so he decided to profit on it.  Oddly enough, a friend and I were contemplating something similar just yesterday…

I urge you to read through the commentary and the “Show More” link below the video.  I got a good laugh about the Faraday cage.  Apparently they are being sold on the black market for a great deal of money…  I did not realize they needed a black market to sell on, but sure, I’ll bite.

For roughly $38 he will let me in on the secrets that only a select few in the entire Church know about, as well as how to survive the coming end times.  Well, I guess the secret is now also known by roughly 28000 people on YouTube, and the End Times aren’t quite as final as I used to believe, eh?  This gives me hope that I too can offer degrees in Thea sinensis lectio.

I chose the Shorter Whitman because of his work, "Song of Myself" and because of my self-deprecating sense of humor. I am under no illusion that I can write successful essays or poetry, but I have been known to write them anyway.

  1. I simply cannot make it through more than a quarter of the video. I hope it ends as parody, but I cannot find out.
It is like sitting through a bad movie I have seen before and hoping it will be different. I become depressed. Either I am constitutionally unable to appreciate satire, or, worse it is not satire.

Here is another example: Either this man is satirizing political opponents, or he doesn’t realize that his opposition involve the psychic fallacy.
A serious opposition does not involve psychically determining thoughts and motives and attacking those things you have thought that he thinks.

    1. Re: The video. I think the creator looks at it as ironic. I suspect he is as genuine as a Glenn Beck or Alex Jones, which is to say that he knows exactly where the money is and how best to part it from its owners.

Re: The link. I didn’t see him taking an opposing view so much as making an argument that Trump isn’t stupid, just a salesman. Mostly conjecture supported by results and some base analysis. As for the thought he thinks part, my wife used to do that to me. I was in trouble for something I never did or thought, but she thought I thought I had…
